Hello! My name is Soleil, and I’m currently an undergrad at SDSU. As graduation is approaching soon, I’m looking forward to starting law school and working toward my goal of becoming a criminal lawyer. I care deeply about helping people who lack access to support or resources, and I want to make a meaningful difference in my community. Outside of my studies, I enjoy writing and reading, as they serve as an outlet for me and a source of joy. That’s also why I’m really looking forward to taking JMS 430 this fall. I am eager to push my creative boundaries in this class and explore how I can grow both academically and personally.
In this class, I aim to become a more skilled and confident writer and learn how to adapt my work for digital journalism. I’m interested in learning about tools like Adobe and other online media programs, as these are essential for creating professional content today. I also hope to get hands-on experience writing clear and interesting stories. I plan to utilize these skills in my journalism classes and later as a lawyer, as good communication is crucial in that field. I'm excited to explore new ways to make my writing more engaging and relatable for a wide range of readers. I aim to connect with diverse audiences and ensure that everyone feels included and understood in what I create, which will enhance my ability to succeed in any professional setting.
